What they call a "steel" finish is really polished chrome, which was exactly what I wanted. Installed easily using enclosed instructions, which included a drilling template.

I had these great oak doors from a job gone wrong. They were pre-drilled for standard locks so the usual pocket door hardware would not work. This hardware is perfect for this situation since I used both doors as pocket doors in my garage remodel. I would have given 5 stars, but beware if a teenager slams the door with the lock extended (locking unit only) you may end up replacing -- ours broke. That is the only drawback and it's mostly human error. If you have a nice door with a lock hole in it and want to use it as a pocket door, this is a great choice -- locking and non-locking.
