Instead of the standard square notched-out pocket door handle we've all seen and used over the years, Quikset has designed this beautiful set which fits into an already bored door. This looks and operated better than the old style, and has the appearance of the shape of other handles through a room. The button on the end has a spring action that acts as the pull to close the door, and the thumb latch turns smoothly into the receiver to lock the door for privacy. We've had some of these in use for over 4 years with no mechanical issues at all. We built a new house and installed 4 pocket doors. Though this picture is of the brushed nickel finish, we ordered them in the oil-rubbed bronze, which matched nicely with the other hardware in the house. One note about ordering these is that you must make sure from the seller that you are getting either the "privacy" latch, which is for bedrooms and bathrooms with a locking mechanism, or the simple, unlockable one for closets (which has... Tried these for our 10 pocket doors. They look good, work generally well. They do not always release the hook to pull them closed well. Sometimes the pull, pulls off but can be replaced.
