 Smart Key Fails, By This review is from: Kwikset 510ANxLL L03 CP Maximum Security Arlington Lever Combo Kit, Lifetime Polished Brass (Tools & Home Improvement) I purchased the Arlington handleset with the Smart Key single cylinder for a new house. Two days later, the key refused to work in the cylinder as I was attempting to lock the front door to leave. I returned the set to the store and exchanged for an identical handleset, only to have that one fail 3 days later, this time when trying to open the door upon my return. I never even used the Smart Key feature on the original cylinder, and after exchanging I successfully rekeyed the doorknob on the garage entry door to match the new deadbolt's key (rather than rekeying the front door deadbolt, lest I give it a reason to fail as the original did, which it ended up doing anyway).Now I'm either stuck with the handle because of it's larger-than-average distance (11") between the standard hardware hole and the smaller hole I drilled to secure the base of the handle in my metal door (the deadbolt would go in the trash), or filling in the base hole, sanding, and repainting my door.
