Ovular face plates tie in nicely with the shape of the Polo interior knob. The Polo is made from one piece of brass for unsurpassed durability. PRoduct was at a good price, but condition was that of a used product. Product arrived in old, beat up packaging. Main visible part of handle was scratched and outside housing of deadbolt was badly scratched. My guess is that this was an item that was returned but sold as new.

I just installed this handle set on my new front door. The latch and bolt feel very solid and operate smoothly. Fortunately the door had pre-drilled standard sized holes, so the hardware went in without a fuss. I just had to drill the bolt hole for the bottom of the handle. I am looking forward to installing Kwikset knobs on my other entry doors and re-keying them all so I only need one key. The SmartKey feature alone is worth the investment. I almost bought a Baldwin set, as my folks have had some for years and they look & feel great, but I noticed a few of the newer Baldwin handle sets used Kwikset lock cylinders anyway, so I opted for the cheaper OEM.

If you have never installed a handle set like this before, the instructions will drive you nuts! They tried to cram generic instructions for different handle set types and a few different languages all on one page. The images were small and not very detailed making it difficult to distinguish what part or bolt went... Read more

I purchased the Arlington handleset with the Smart Key single cylinder for a new house. Two days later, the key refused to work in the cylinder as I was attempting to lock the front door to leave. I returned the set to the store and exchanged for an identical handleset, only to have that one fail 3 days later, this time when trying to open the door upon my return. I never even used the Smart Key feature on the original cylinder, and after exchanging I successfully rekeyed the doorknob on the garage entry door to match the new deadbolt's key (rather than rekeying the front door deadbolt, lest I give it a reason to fail as the original did, which it ended up doing anyway).

Now I'm either stuck with the handle because of it's larger-than-average distance (11") between the standard hardware hole and the smaller hole I drilled to secure the base of the handle in my metal door (the deadbolt would go in the trash), or filling in the base hole, sanding, and repainting my door.
